For you, when you register your boat

You hear from me

Register a boat and I get in touch personally — including if the answer is that we are not opening near you yet. You hear from me either way.

You decide everything

When we open, you set the price, the available days and who may rent it. Nothing goes public until you say yes, and you can delete the entry at any time.

You learn what I find out

Whoever has registered a boat hears first when payment and opening are settled — whatever the answer turns out to be.

Where we are building

We open one stretch of coast at a time.

We build density area by area rather than thinly along the whole coast. See where we are heading — and register your boat where you are.

The Oslofjord

The Oslofjord is Norway's most densely boated waters — an archipelago of bathing coves and hundreds of islands a short cruise from the capital. Renting a boat in the Oslofjord opens up everything from slow days on a classic snekke to long hours on the water, without owning one.

See the area

Vestfold

Tønsberg and Tjøme are the heart of the Vestfold archipelago — Verdens Ende, smooth granite rocks and narrow sounds between the islands. Renting a boat in Tønsberg puts you in the middle of one of Norway's most popular summer waters.

See the area

The southern coast

Kristiansand is the capital of the southern coast and the gateway to an archipelago of white granite and sheltered coves. Renting a boat in Kristiansand means summer warmth, mild bathing water and some of the country's most popular natural harbours.

See the area

Western Norway

Stavanger sits at the entrance to Ryfylke and the Lysefjord, with Pulpit Rock and dramatic fjord scenery within reach. Renting a boat in Stavanger gives you everything from the Hafrsfjord archipelago to long fjord cruises toward the Lysefjord.

See the area

Northern Norway

Tromsø lies in the middle of an Arctic realm of sounds, fjords and snow-capped peaks — midnight sun in summer, northern lights in winter. Renting a boat in Tromsø gives you Arctic nature, whale-watching waters and fjord trips beyond the ordinary.

See the area

Bohuslän

Bohuslän is the coast north of Gothenburg, running all the way to the Norwegian border: bare granite worn smooth by the ice, thousands of islets and skerries, and water shallow enough to be worth swimming in by August. Renting a boat is the only way to reach the islands the passenger ferries do not serve.

See the area

Stockholm archipelago

The Stockholm archipelago fans east from the capital into the Baltic, with Vaxholm in the inner islands and Sandhamn close to the open sea. Between them lies a web of narrow sounds, wooded islands and bare skerries that grows steadily more exposed towards the outer edge.

See the area

Gothenburg archipelago

Gothenburg's archipelago sits in the Kattegat at the city's seaward approach, with Brännö, Styrsö and Vrångö to the south and Vinga on the western edge. Tight passages thread between the inhabited islands before giving way to more open, wind-exposed water around the outer skerries.

See the area

Kalmar Strait and Öland

Kalmar Strait separates Öland from mainland Småland, with the Öland Bridge crossing its central section at Kalmar. The strait opens into the Baltic at both ends, while Öland's eastern shore faces the open sea directly.

See the area

The Øresund off Copenhagen

The Øresund separates Zealand from Scania, with Copenhagen and Malmö facing each other across the strait. Off Copenhagen, the city waterfront, Amager's low coast and Saltholm meet a busy shipping route between the Baltic and the Kattegat.

See the area

The South Funen Archipelago

The South Funen Archipelago is a drowned Ice Age landscape of shallow bays, narrow sounds and low islands south of Funen. Ærø, Lyø and Avernakø sit between the waters off Faaborg and Svendborg and the open Baltic farther south.

See the area

The Limfjord

The Limfjord cuts across northern Jutland from Thyborøn on the North Sea to Hals on the Kattegat. Along the way, the water shifts between broad basins and narrow sounds around islands including Mors and Fur.

Three steps

From a dull Sunday to full throttle

🧭

Find and book

Search by place and date, and choose a boat with or without a skipper. If you don't have a boating licence, we filter those out.

Meet the owner at the dock

The owner meets you, shows you the boat and covers the essentials. At launch, the deposit is reserved at this point, not charged.

🌊

Out on the fjord

Just go. The aim is that the deposit is released as soon as the boat is returned, and that the agreement between you and the owner is settled before you cast off.

Safety first

Know where you stand before you leave the quay

What people fear most about sharing a boat is the bill if something breaks. We sell no insurance and do not pretend otherwise: the rental agreement is between owner and renter, and the cover is the owner's own. What we do is say plainly what is actually required — ordinary leisure-boat insurance usually does not cover renting out, and that has to be cleared with the insurer before the first trip.

  • Insurance stays with the owner. We explain what insurers require.
  • The deposit is to be reserved on the card, not charged, and released automatically after the trip. From launch.
  • Everyone will be verified with BankID at launch. We require a boating licence where the law requires it.
  • Our goal at launch: assistance at sea and damage support, around the clock in season.

For boat owners

What could your boat earn?

When we open, you set the price, which days the boat is available and who gets to rent it. Work out what your boat could bring in — there is no ceiling; it is set by the boat and your local market. The aim is that payment and the contract run through Sailfloat.

4 days

Four days is one long weekend a month. Most boats rent out fewer days than the owner expects — set the number you actually believe.
