Yes — a trip into the Lysefjord takes you past Pulpit Rock, rising more than 600 metres straight up from the water. It's one of the most dramatic fjord trips you can make out of Stavanger.

The Ryfylke islands and Hafrsfjord offer sheltered archipelago close to the city, great for swimming and short trips. The Lysefjord is more demanding and exposed — pick a stable day if you sail all the way in.

It depends on the boat and on the country you will be sailing in — the rules are not the same in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Is the boat insured when I rent in Stavanger?
Sailfloat provides no insurance. The rental agreement is between owner and renter, and the boat is covered by the owner's own policy — renting out for payment is often excluded from ordinary leisure-boat insurance, so the owner must have cleared it with their insurer.
