Inside the islands, between Tromøy and the mainland, it's well sheltered and lovely for calm trips. If you want to reach the Torungene lighthouses, pick a calm day — the sea is more open out there.
Do I need a boating licence to rent a boat in Arendal?
It depends on the boat and on the country you will be sailing in — the rules are not the same in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Is the boat insured when I rent in Arendal?
Sailfloat provides no insurance. The rental agreement is between owner and renter, and the boat is covered by the owner's own policy — renting out for payment is often excluded from ordinary leisure-boat insurance, so the owner must have cleared it with their insurer.
